According to the classic recipe, French meat is prepared from beef with onions, cheese and mayonnaise, but there are variations with various additional ingredients. As they say, each housewife has her own recipe. One of the varieties is French meat with potatoes.

To prepare this hot dish, you will need: six hundred grams of beef or pork, twelve potatoes, one hundred sixty grams of Dutch cheese, three medium onions, half a glass of mayonnaise, a teaspoon of refined sunflower oil, seasoning for meat, pepper, salt to taste.

Prepare your ingredients. Peel the onion and cut it into rings. Cut the peeled potatoes into slices about three to four millimeters thick. Grate the cheese into a cup on a coarse or medium grater.

Cut the washed meat into small pieces about one and a half centimeters thick and beat off with a hammer on both sides. Rub it with salt, pepper and spices.

Grease a baking sheet with vegetable oil, place all the ingredients of the dish on it in layers. Put the products in the following sequence: on the bottom - meat steaks, onion rings on them, grease them with mayonnaise, then - potatoes, greased with a thin mayonnaise layer. Sprinkle with grated cheese on top.

Put the French meat with potatoes in an oven heated to two hundred degrees for forty-five minutes. Serve to the table as soon as you get it out of the oven - hot, you can sprinkle with herbs and combine with fresh vegetables.
